About

We grew to love Colombia and the Colombian people during our first term. We spent 2005 in Costa Rica for language school. We arrived in Colombia in 2006 to begin our ministry. We worked with Jose and Karina Alonso in the Grace Baptist Church of Chia. Although we faced many difficulties (read: church split), we learned more than we could have imagined. I taught a number of courses in the Colombia Baptist Seminary. I also travelled with the “Z Team,” as we prayed that God would direct our future ministry. We had thought the answer was Cali, but God has changed our plans to the Colombian coast.

Holly and I have been married for more than eleven years. We met at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa. We got married after college graduation (the day after), and then I went on to seminary at Faith Baptist Theological Seminary. We have been members of Campus Baptist Church in Ames for about fifteen years. Some of our interests include traveling, reading, swimming (Jon), homeschooling, and more than anything the gospel of Jesus Christ.
